This only touches on the available vehicles in the title. Naval vehicles range from frigates to submarines. Land vehicles include tanks and roving battlestations, with air units such as fighter planes and transports keeping things in check above the battlefield. As you can imagine, each of these units is best used to handle another type, such as the bazooka soldiers against vehicles on the land. Your basic infantry is made up of rifleman, flamethrower soldiers, bazooka units, assault units, anti-air soldiers and mortar units. Each force has a plethora of units for land, sea and air combat. The sheer variety of available units, however, is more than you might expect. Making up these 6 different empires are the Western Frontier, Tundran Territories, Xylvania, Solar Empire, Anglo Isles and the nation that almost conquered the world, the Iron Legion.Įach of the territories differ in look, but basically offer up the same types of units. ![]() Funny how that never lasts, though, as the many empires of the world (6 to be exact) soon find themselves choosing sides in a new war. The game picks up where the first game left off, with the world in a relative state of peace. Even if Nintendo hasn't acted like it is from an advertising standpoint. On the whole though, Battalion Wars 2 is easily deserving of a place in anyone's library and one of the best games on the Wii so far. It even has an enjoyable online mode, although it's fairly limited. With compelling gameplay that effectively uses the control scheme, all of the action in this game is fun throughout. And, it has just about everything that fans of first-party Nintendo games are looking for. They are not controllable by the player, as allied transports are AI-controlled protection targets and enemy transports are destruction targets. Their water based counterpart in both capacity and role is the Naval Transport. They play a very important role by sending reinforcements and preforming evacuations. Transporting up to five infantry and one light vehicle by the sky's, most of the airborne nations use these aircraft (save the Iron Legion). ![]()
